Law and Order iPad App

Law and Order Legacies

I am a huge Law and Order fan. So when I saw that Episode 1 of the Law and Order iPad app was free for a limited time, I had to give it a try.

The app is officially called Law & Order Legacies and consists of seven episodes. The first one is free when you download the app on the iTunes App Store, and episodes 2 through 7 are available as an in app purchase for $12.99.

However, at the time of this writing -  episodes 5, 6, and 7 have not yet been released.

When I downloaded this app – I really wasn’t sure what to expect.

Work the Case

Just like the TV show -  the app begins with a murder.

You are a detective on the case, and you join a famous cast of virtual characters. Other fans will know Detective Olivia Benson, Ray Curtis, and Lennie Briscoe.

It is up to you to gather evidence, interview persons of interest, and interpret your findings.

You will be asked questions about the situation and your correct answers allow you to move on to the next development. Incorrect answers will cause you to replay the scene.

Prosecute the Case

Once the evidence is collected – it’s time for court.

You become a lawyer on the case.

Now you need to listen to testimony and convince the jury of your position.

You learn when and how to object and for what reasons.

At the end, depending on your performance in the courtroom – you decide what sentence to deliver.

Pay Close Attention

This Law and Order iPad app requires that you pay close attention to all the details – especially what people are saying.

It is almost like an interactive TV episode.

There is not a lot of action – it is mostly a question and answer format.

Episode 1 was interesting in that it started out headed in one direction – but halfway through, the story abruptly took a twist.

I really didn’t like that twist, because I like closure on one thing before heading into another.

Overall, this iPad app was good entertainment.

If you are a fan of the show, then it is worth checking out this Law and Order iPad app. After all the first episode is free -  for now.

You can get the app here on the iTunes Store.

One Technical Detail

When I first ran this app, it crashed a few times and the audio and video were out of sync.

I just shut down the iPad and restarted it – and all was good again.
