Help!
I have an Epson Stylus NX510 that I picked up for free maybe a year ago.
Well, my hp 6180 finally died. RIP. More on that saga later.
But luckily, I had the Epson. Or so I thought.
Today I set it up and getting the Mac to install the drivers is a no go.
When I try to add the printer in Print Preferences – the computer sees the printer (over wifi).
So I select it and the computer tells me that drivers are available from Apple and gives me the choice to download and install.
So I say – go for it.
Only to get a new message that says “The software for this printer is currently unavailable.”.
Aaaargh!
Something that should have taken minutes has taken the bulk of my day.
I even tried to directly download the Epson printer drivers from Apple.
The installation says Successful! – but still when I try to add the printer – same old story.
Does anyone have a solution that can help me out?
Please? I am at my wit’s end.
UPDATE: And after all that – did I follow my own cardinal advice? The first line of defense? Restart the computer. Yup – that was all that it took. I restarted and then added the printer in printer preferences. Done.
